Quick Facts
Roots
My childhood was spent in rural Indiana. Many of my mornings growing up started with being dropped off at grandma's house where I would watch Sesame Street or Teletubbies. My mother was a choir teacher and my father was a local bus driver and poultry farmer.
Most of my time as a child consisted of hanging out with mom and her choir students or gathering eggs numerous times a day in the chicken house.
Childhood
If you talked to my parents and or grandparents, they could accurately describe me as a child better then I will attempt to do. Here are a few key moments though that are a staple to my childhood:
- - My first step of independence was when I made my first peanut butter sandwich.
- - Was an avid *NSYNC fan by age 3, hiding my face in my bean bag every time Justin Timberlake came on stage.
- - Hid from Chuck E. Cheese at my 5th birthday party by sitting under the table.
- - Would scream "I don't like it" during most car rides because I hated car seats.
Inspiration
There are many people that inspire me in professional and personal matters, but a few key musicians are: Switchfoot, Relient K, Goo Goo Dolls, Brian "Head" Welch, The Temptations, ABBA, The Doobie Brothers, Hootie and the Blowfish and Third Eyed Blind.
Involvement
Most of my time throughout middle school and high school was being involved with music. In middle school I played percussion and was member of choir for three years (all inspired by my mom because she is a percussionist and was my choir director). In eighth grade I joined Sweet Adelines International and sang with Christmas City Chorus (now HeartSong Show Chorus) alongside my mom for over nine years.
In my spare time over the years and with help from others, I have been able to learn how to play guitar and basic keys. The next instrument I would love to start: bass guitar!
